Noticed something that’s probably not news to some, but was definitely interesting to me.
Interestingly enough, I had noticed this in the last election and the one before, but within the South, the more conservative smaller towns never really side with the urban areas. Strangely enough, urban areas tend to swing more liberal while more rural swings more conservative.
In seeing this graph, you can definitely tell where Senators Obama and Clinton stand even within the Democratic Party. That said, Senator Clinton might lose out in the same battle if put up against McCain since those same counties would probably swing towards the even more conservative.
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that if I were in the campaign planning, I would worry about this fact. Good thing I’m not involved in politics since this type of data would definitely keep me awake at night.
