grandperspective.png GrandPerspective is this neat little open source tool for MacOSX. It’s basically a tree mapping tool, but what that means in layman’s terms is that it takes the amount of space your files and folders take up on your hard drive and puts it in a nice pretty graphical view. Thus, you can tell which directories and files are taking up the most space on your hard drive.
What’s more is that you can template it however you wish, and have the colors represent folders, names, extensions, etc. Pretty interesting if you’re having some issues with space and really can’t find those huge files to kill. What’s more is that you can mask it so that you’re only looking in a certain area for certain types of files. That makes searching a breeze, especially graphically.
