cports_icon.gif CurrPorts is a brilliant free windows program that allows you to check your current ports. That means that all TCP/IP and UDP ports opened are tracked to which applications are using them and which IPs and remote ports they’re connecting to at the time. You can also copy the information, kill the port usages, and other functionality. Useful when you think there’s a less bandwidth going on than usual and then you find that some hacker is running emule to send the latest Jerry Springer episode. Then you could thwack that port connection, instead of wondering why your ping went from 30 to 250 and you just got pwned in a fragfest.
