ConvergeSouth Film Festival

ConvergeSouth this year is starting its first ever Film Festival. Take a look at the neato skippy promotional video. You think you got what it takes? Go ahead and sign up. Personally, I think that ThurSawday should give it a go… but who knows…

This year, I’m stepping back a bit and working on some personal things while there’s some other people running with some of this. Not totally out of the loop, but I’ve taken a step into the background and have been doing more behind the scenes type calls with the coordinator of it all (and what a wonderful woman she is and deserves all the thanks in the world. Those of you that don’t know her personally might know her as one of the Download Squad writers). The film festival is being directed by local award winning talent, Andy Coon. The guy is brilliant with his documentaries, I tell you. In any case, take a look and see if you can’t throw something its way. Come October, there should be the third annual ConvergeSouth with even more bang and hooplah than the previous years. I know it’s tough to outshine our awesome selves, but believe me… we manage to do so still.

  • Ben,
Wow, thanks for those words… Feels good especially at the time when i just got fired from my day job. No worries the film festival will still go on, and it will be a blast.
I would have no clout for the film festival if it wasn’t for all the people that gave ConvergeSouth the name it has today. That includes you Ben.
    Thanks

  • Hey, the guy that got Current.tv to sponsor the first year of film has got to be brilliant. *grin*
And “Greensboro’s Child” was truly very well done. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t expecting before watching it but afterwards.. I was like… “wow. this was really something”.
I’m glad to have you on the film staff. Thanks for all your hard work at jumpstarting this.
