Verizon a nickel up per text message

Following in the footsteps of Sprint and Cingular, Verizon Wireless has also pushed up their text messaging services from ten cents to fifteen. It looks like an industry wide push starting with Sprint to get people on a text messaging plan instead of paying for single messages.
While it’s finally starting to take off due to Gen Y going nuts with texting, Europe and Asia look across the pond and stare blankly at what the big deal is since they’ve been adamantly texting for ages. I guess we’re just a bit behind the times.
