Who caved to make Eragon rating PG?

I finally saw a commercial with the rating for this movie. Now every little kid in the free world has probably read this book by Christopher Paolini. The first of the Inheritance Trilogy has gone to the big screen.
But if you watch enough television, you’ll notice that the commercials at the beginning were UR. Why is that? I’m sure someone finally caved but there was probably a battle for this to be PG or PG-13. I’m personally disappointed by the outcome.

What’s wrong with PG for this movie? Both Ice Age movies were PG. It was cute and pretty much non-violent. Out of all of the Harry Potter movies, every single one of them until the last one (Goblet of Fire) was PG. There was no strange deaths be it fantasy or real. Yet even Goblet of Fire was PG-13. So what’s wrong with Eragon?
If you watch the commercials, you see a dragon chomp down on half of a guy and still holding his torso, whip him into the air. The commercial doesn’t give you enough to tell if the guy is eaten or not, but it’s pretty obvious that isn’t PG. All the magic and sword fighting wasn’t Princess Bride. It was Lord of the Rings.
In case you’re wondering. PG ratings says…”There may be some violence or brief nudity. However, these elements are not considered so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance.”
Inconsistent ratings by CARA. No wonder no one pays attention to them anymore.

I have to say I was really dissapointed with the outcome of this movie. I don’t know who would want to mess with the fans of Eragon because we are all pissed off. I mean PG? Now they made the book look bad……idiots
