You’ve got four seconds before you lose the sales

A study by Akamai and JupiterResearch has found that four seconds is the longest period of time that can take a online retail site to load before the surfer will go somewhere else. What’s also interesting is that if it takes too long to load, the surfer will probably more likely not to come back.
Strangely enough, as much as the staff of LUX shops online, we have our couple sites that we always shop at and they’re always super fast. That nice looking site and SSL really helps too on the whole keeping the consumer there factor.
