A heavy look at Nintendo DS

This weekend, a buddy of mine let me borrow his Nintendo DS with a few games. After a few swats at the New Super Mario Brothers, I realized why Nintendo came out with the DS Lite. It’s not just the smaller form factor that is more lovable. The DS phat weighs a ton.
However, with the DS Lite, the weight is drastically reduced. While still a bulky device to handle since you have a screen that is counter-balanced by your hands holding the bottom half, it’s definitely a lot easier to handle over a longer period of time. Still, just by the physics of it, you would find that handling any clamshell based device in the mannerism as Nintendo’s does would cause a lot more stress on your hands and wrists than the PSP.
