Spamhaus tells Illinois courts tough on judgment in favor of spammer

That’s the problem with this country. Spamhaus, a well known anti-spam organization that provides blacklists all over the world against spammers, was recently ordered to pay $11.7 million to Illinois spammer, e360insight.
Spamhaus laughed it out of existence claiming that it was a United Kingdom organization and the lawsuit was irrelevant since it was not pursued under British jurisdiction.
We find that it’s really too bad that our (American) law system can be played in such a way that ethical things such as spam cannot be stopped, even with the CAN-SPAM act. Perhaps when we’ve actually curbed spam, we can tackle the other scary marketing one: junk mail.
