Opting out of online information directories

It’s really not that hard to get your personal information all over the Internet. It’s also pratically impossible to get it off of the Internet. But if you’re really concerned about the fact that people could in fact track you down and find you (even though it’s fairly easy as it is), then you can go about opting out of information directories and searches such as Zabasearch and USSearch.
Privacy Rights Clearinghouse provides you with a way to do just that. This doesn’t mean you’ll automatically disappear off of the face of the earth and be protected, but for the paranoid few, it might provide a facade of online safety.
