The hate of WordPress
WordPress is probably one of the best open-source blog softwares out there. I even recommend it.
But I'm beginning to loathe it with extreme prejudice. Why? Whatever default spam blocker it has on it has me set for spammer. Or something like that. Either the Bayesian filters aren't working or there's some seriously screwed things going on.
Why is this happening? I have no clue. I've been commenting on both Scobleizer and Sue's blog forever. As of late though, every single comment I write gets thrown out. No reason why, I use the same information as I did always and it's not like I write about viagra and cialis or something. But every single one gets thrown out.
Perhaps it's Akismet, but we use Akismet for MT along with Spamlookup and it works just fine. So what's the deal, WordPress. Got me riled up now and feeling miserable. I can't comment on raging topics and I'm missing out on all the fun. Pooh. I hate you, WordPress. I hate you.
UPDATE (8/28): Matt Mullenweg of Automattic (creators of Akismet) was looking into this for me. Voila. Fixed. Got to love having some people that know their software.

I thought Akismet is defaulted though. Not sure. Either way, it's annoying as hell.
Yeah, SpamKarma is da bomb. I thought Sue used SK also, but maybe she switched to Akismet. Or maybe she's modified the SK default settings - I kept mine at the defaults. Or maybe people are catching on to your secret life as a spammer. Don't try to hide it.
By the way, what's up with your site lately? I often get an error saying the server stopped responding. It seemed to start when Scoble linked to you. Did he break something?
Uhhhhh.... I don't see any issues. :p
Maybe it's time to move hosts. lol.
Oh .. and if my secret life is a spammer, man... I'm totally not raking in what I should be. :p I mean seriously.
I couldn't get the default Akismet to install. It wanted WP to host my blog.
SK is a plug in, which is the magic of WP; all those themes and widgets.
Hey, Darkmoon... I use Wordpress, and I also use Spam Karma... it seems to work really well, and is really eaasy to set up. Here's the URL:

I had SK2 but somebody solved it so I switched to Akismet. No problems so far.
