CCleaner

CCleaner is a system optimization and privacy tool. It’s freeware and supports Windows systems. The nice thing about CCleaner is that it looks at all of your applications that could potentially be storing some information that could become a problem, and cleans it up if you deem it so. It’s also nice because it does registry scanning and cleanup. Initial tests of CCleaner resulted in a very optimized and happy registry.
Remember that if you do this, to always backup registry files. It potentially could render programs useless and cause aggravation in re-installing software. Otherwise, go forth and cclean away!

  • The default installation also installs the Yahoo! toolbar -- a version that will not uninstall from the toolbar itself. One has to go to add/remove programs to uninstall the toolbar, which I did right after uninstalling CCleaner.
  • Thats a great program, I've been using it for years.
