autopackage

Ever wonder why you had to get the exact packages for your distribution and why you couldn’t use another distribution’s rpms or packages for that one single application that you want/need/or just must have? It’s basically an issue with library dependencies and one of the few reasons why linux hasn’t taken off yet due to the choices. (Who ever thought that choice would be bad?)
Autopackage changes all of that. Created for distribution independent packages, this alleviates all the needs trying to keep on top of the latest and greatest no matter what distribution you’re running. Think of it like Windows msi or setup exe files. Very useful when you get right down to it.
So give it a go.
