How to turn your old computer into a firewall with Smoothwall

Smoothwall is a firewall built on linux. It’s pretty much a full-featured firewall, similar to something you would buy at an enterprise level. So if you’re looking for something to do with your old box, and shelling out another $50 for one of those off-the-shelf boxes isn’t in your budget, look at running the machine with Smoothwall.
One final thing. If you’re using this box as your firewall, we would assume that this machine would need “two” ethernet connections. One to go to the Internet connection, and one to go to your local network. Otherwise, it’s pretty useless if you run a firewall with nothing to protect eh?
