Save Powerpoint presentations as pps files

Quick tip for giving professional Powerpoint presentations. If you save Powerpoints as pps files, then when you double-click the item, it launches straight into the slideshow. Powerpoint presentations already suck in general so this will at least give you an edge on the professionalism right at the beginning.

  • Note:
Saving as PPS files means you won’t be able to edit the file again since PPS files are read-only. You’ll need to save two versions… the PPT if you plan to make changes (and lets face it, you do) and the PPS files for sending to people that you only want to view the slideshow.
Also, PPS files are not as compatible with other software packages (read “OpenOffice”) as PPT files are.
