Microsoft Europe claims open-source non-dependable or reliable

Got to love Microsoft. The VP of MS Europe is now saying that the open-source community finds sharing with community the value behind OSS, but lacks the dependability and reliability of commercial software.

“Some people want to use community-based software, and they get value out of sharing with other people in the community. Other people want the reliability and the dependability that comes from a commercial software model. And again, at the end of the day, you make the choice based on what has the highest value to you,” Murray continued.

We have a sneaking suspicion based on this observation, Microsoft must obviously be open-source since it is probably the most pirated shared software on the planet, and linux must be based on a commercial model because of the ability to be stable and reliable. But we won’t go there. No we won’t.
