The 10/20/30 Rule of Powerpoint

I’m an entrepeneur racing after a dream of becoming a VC if I make it into the big leagues. And this was one of the most valuable resources that I ran across since this is exactly what I hate to see from people.
The 10/20/30 rule of Powerpoint. Guy Kawasaki has been in the VC industry for years and he’s very right about one thing… everyone thinks that their product is the best, is patent pending, and is the next big thing. The actual reality is that out of these, only about 10% of them are telling the truth and the rest are in delusions of grandeur.
He tells us three basic rules that will more likely sell your product for capitalization:

  1. No more than 10 slides.
  2. No more than 20 minutes.
  3. No less than size 30 font.

If you can’t sell your product with those requirements, you might want to reconsider if it is the “next big thing”. And at the very least, you’ll master the art of presentations if nothing else.
