Los Angeles school district drops $1500 laptops bill into parents laps

Again another mistake on the side of some superintendent that never thought before acting on this silly plan. They are planning on pushing $1500 laptops into kids hands but having the parents front the bill either in a one-time fee or a monthly loan plan of $50 a month for three years. What’s ridiculous about this is that a public education is supposed to be “free”. Not everyone can afford a $1500 laptop.
It’s idiocy to think that this is a good idea. The school district says… it increases test scores and learning. Give me a break. People have been learning the old fashioned way just fine for decades. Computers are aides and tools, not a requirement for a good education. Talk about shirking accountability and responsibility.
