County Commissioner: Not enough time to blog

Following the links from JR, it lead to the Inside Scoop’s interview with County Commissioner Bruce Davis on his blogging efforts.

Davis, a Guilford County commissioner, started his blog in October but hasn’t posted anything since. In an interview on Friday, he said he hasn’t found the time to blog between attending meetings, running his day-care center, and answering emails from constituents.

I suppose I could say that there isn’t time to post, but then again, many of the bloggers currently run busy schedules also. While I cannot speak for everyone, I can tell you that it’s no ballgame working full-time for a Fortune 500 business, being 24×7 on-call for that job, while doing community work and community meetings, running a nonprofit and working a side business. And I still post like an addict.
Perhaps it’s the political realm of things. But then again, if you read Sandy Carmany, you find that she posts multiple times a week. Tom Phillips, whom has since dropped from blogging, posted about twice a month but was very regular in that regard. From another political perspective, I have to give Marcus Kindley credit that the man blogs like a whirlwind.
Moral of this story: If you don’t have time, you make time. If it’s not your cup of tea, then don’t jump into the game. Some people don’t see the point of blogging and that’s perfectly fine since it’s just another medium to reach your constituents. Others see it as another form of communicating so that people don’t misinterpret your decisions.
In the end, this flip-flopping wishy-washy business just makes us, the local bloggers, feel like you started because you were forced to and you really couldn’t care less about the local blogosphere.
Then again, what do you care. I’m just another blogger in a sea of many.

It’s the end of February of 2006. Bruce Davis, the ex-Chairman of the Guilford County Commissioners and one that I dislike due to these acts that we the taxpayers are paying for, still doesn’t have time to blog even though…
