Talk of the day: GM and Ford cuts jobs

Can’t elaborate more than what’s on the news today, but Ford is looking to cut 4,000 white collar jobs in the next year while General Motors is looking to cut over 30,000 jobs in the next three years along with nine facility shutdowns in North America.
Increasing health care costs and pensions are cited to be the major influencing powers to these job losses.
I would be very curious to see if these high executives dare increase their own salaries in the next couple of years. If they do, they obviously didn’t have the company’s best interests in mind. I know of a few smaller corporations that pull exactly this stunt currently. Really poor management, but unfortunately it’s an insider’s knowledge and not in the views of analysts. What I wouldn’t give to be able to leak information like this. ha.
