Cisco IOS flaw finally patched

Three months after Michael Lynn quit his job at ISS and presented the flaw at the Black Hat Briefings, Cisco has finally patched the IOS flaw that was presented showing how the exploit could lead to denial-of-service attacks or execution of arbitrary commands.
Why Michael Lynn had to lose his job over this blatant flaw still remains a mystery. Perhaps business people look at the security business with the security by obscurity methodology.
