Honda develops airbags for motorcycles

I’m sorry, but as a motorocyclist, I find this design insanely stupid. The airbag deploys from where the gas tank is, which makes the assumption that the collision is from the front. While this assumption would prevent head-on collisions, most of the accidents with cars are usually when the car hits the motorcycle from the side. There was many a time that no one was paying attention to their shifting and almost took me out going 70mph.
I applaude the fact that they looked for a way to deploy safety on motorcycles, but using a method developed for cars is not innovative and really does not help those of us that ride.

  • A Nony Mouse

Honda already make motorcycles that provide a level of protection for the passenger from vehicals that are coming from any direction … they’re called “cars”.
