Hacking the NSLU2: Installing a Media server

The Linksys NSLU2, commonly referred to by hardware hackers as the SLUG, is a nice little device that was found to be running a version of linux a while back. A hacker found an exploit to crack open the administration panel and thus a whole new firmware hacker community was born.
In this tutorial, Jim Buzbee shows how to install a media server onto the NSLU2. This is a cheap, silent, and power-efficient solution to serve up media onto a LAN instead of firing up a computer to do the same duties.
